We Believe
This Statement of Faith is not exhaustive in content nor thorough in any subject, but does state forth the basics of Bible-believing Christianity. We want all to know that we believe the soul-saving, life-changing message of God's Holy Word, and preach and teach it without apology. We believe the Holy Bible, as preserved in the Authorized King James Version.
The Holy Scriptures
We believe the Bible to be the verbally inspired, infallible, inerrant Word of God; divinely preserved in the King James Version and is the final authority in matters of church doctrine and godly living. The Authorized King James Version shall be the only Bible used in all English-speaking ministries of this church.
II Timothy 3:16; II Peter 1:21
The Godhead
We believe in the eternal existence of the triune God, manifest in the person of The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit.
Romans 1:20; Colossians 2:9; Matthew 3:16-17; I John 5:7
God the Father
We believe in God the Father, the first person of the Triune God; that He orders and disposes all things according to His own purpose and grace; that He is sovereign in creation, providence, and redemption; that He continually directs and governs all creatures and events; that He accomplishes His will without being in any way the author or approver of sin or abridging the accountability of human beings.
Ephesians 4:6; Matthew 28:19; Isaiah 14:24-27; Ephesians 2:7; Psalm 135:6; II Chronicles 20:6; Psalm 89:9; Matthew 6:26; Ephesians 1:3-6; Isaiah 44:24-28; Romans 7:7, 12-14; Romans 9:14; Psalm 5:4; Ezekiel 18:23; Romans 3:4-6
Deity of Christ
We believe in Jesus Christ, the pre-existent, eternal, immortal, and only begotten Son of God; that He was conceived of the Holy Ghost and was virgin-born; that He lived a sinless life; that He died on the cross for sinners, was buried and physically arose from the dead three days later; and that He is God incarnate. We believe Jesus Christ to be the one and only Saviour of mankind.
John 1:1-14; I Timothy 3:16
Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit of God is a Person Who has personality and all of the attributes of Deity; that He indwells and seals the believer; that He convicts and draws sinners to Christ; that He assists the believer in matters of righteousness, sin, prayer, and understanding of the Scripture; and that He empowers the believer for service.
Ephesians 4:30; I John 2:27; Acts 1:8
Creation
We believe that God created the universe in six literal, 24-hour periods. We reject evolution, the Gap Theory, the Day-Age Theory, Theistic Evolution, and intelligent design not attributed to God as unscriptural theories of origin.
Genesis 1:2; Exodus 20:11
Fall of Man
We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God, but that in Adam's sin the human race fell, inherited a sinful nature, and became alienated from God; that all men are sinners by birth and by choice and are deserving of both physical and spiritual death in the lake of fire; and that of themselves, are utterly unable to remedy their lost condition, and are in need of redemption by the regenerating ministry of the Holy Spirit and blood of Jesus Christ.
Genesis 1:26-27, 2:16-17, 3:6; Romans 3:23, 5:12, 6:23; Revelation 20:14; I Peter 1:18-19
Heaven and Hell
We believe in the eternal blessedness of the saved in Heaven and the eternal punishment of the lost in a literal lake of fire.
I Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 20:11-15
Salvation of Sinners
We believe that salvation is a free gift offered to men by God through His grace, without the aid of man's works. It is received by faith in Jesus Christ as one's personal Saviour. We reject Calvinism.
Ephesians 2:8-9; Acts 16:31
Security of the Believers
We believe that those who accept Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour receive eternal life and can never perish. They are sealed unto the day of redemption by the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit. We reject Arminianism.
John 10:28; Ephesians 4:30
Second Coming
We believe in the pre-tribulational rapture of the church saints, followed by seven years of tribulation on earth. We believe in the pre-millennial return of Jesus Christ to the earth to establish His kingdom and to reign and rule for one thousand years.
Acts 1:11; Revelation 19:11-21; Revelation 20:4-6
Local Church
We believe the church is a visible, called-out assembly of baptized believers, organized and formed for the propagation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We are an independent, Baptist church. We believe in the autonomy of the local church. We believe that a church should practice New Testament principles, believe its doctrines, and observe its ordinances of baptism and the Lord's Supper. We stand in opposition to the ecumenical and charismatic movements, and all cooperative evangelism between churches who are not of the same faith and practice.
Matthew 16:16-18; Acts 2:41-47
